Champion Double Ale is a unique blend of two “Beers with Character”.
A classic Scottish Strong Ale is blended with a high quality Stout. The strong warming flavour of the Strong Ale is enhanced by the rich roasted flavours of the Stout. The resulting complex blend of flavours is beautifully balanced by the excellent hop character found in both beers. This fine ale takes on the double characters of two knights from the era of the “Border Reivers” during the reign of King David of Scotland. TESCO Beer Challenge winner 2006, Champion Double Ale was also judged to be in the "World's 50 Best Beers" in the 2007 International Beer Challenge competition. This excellent beer has also won a Gold medal in the Scottish SIBA competition 2008 Major ingredients are:- Optic Pale Ale Malt, Crystal Malt, Black Malt and pinhead oats Hops used are English grown Challenger, Fuggles and First Gold Sold as a case of 12 bottles, price includes VAT and carriage.
